Sam Clark Rehearsal - 02/03/2012

Last week's rehearsal went well considering we had a break for February half term, from last week we established that the following songs are at all different points in terms of development; (Green; Best to Red; Worst)

• Shout - Pretty much ready, everybody knows their parts and just a couple more play through's and this should be finished and ready for the performance.
• Really Got Me - Pretty much ready just a few parts need learning and a couple more run through's.
• Thats How I Know - Practise! This song needs a lot of practise in order to get it up to the standard that we need. Guitar part needs to be learnt and confident. Lead Vocals are fine and learnt. Bass is fine. Drums are fine. Piano is okay just need to be confident and learnt. BV are okay but needs to be learnt and practised.
• Don't Look Back in Anger - Went really well last week, Guitar is a very large part because of the Guitar Solo. This needs to be learnt and confident. Drums are good. Piano is good, just needs to be learnt. Bass is good and I believe is learnt. Vocals and BV are good, just need to be learnt. No problems with tambourine.
• Imagine - Shaky! Sometimes really good but sometimes really poor. Parts need to be learnt and confident. Adam needs to keep a steady beat to keep the piece flowing. Vocals need to be more emotional to reflect the song and meaning. Piano needs to be confident. Bass is almost there, just learning the piece now and I believe that Guitar is pretty much done and learnt.
• Trapped in Space - Not really started a successful rehearsal on this song yet, lots of work needed to get it up to the standard that we need. Practise is required away from the lesson as much as we can!

So what I propose to do;

Period 1

• Start of with a warm up, playing Don't Look Back in anger.
• Highlight any issues and resolve in  Don't Look Back in anger.
• As this song needs a lot of work, I believe we need to practise Thats how i know.
• Highlight any issues and resolve in  Thats how i know.
• Play through Imagine.
• Highlight any issues and resolve in Imagine.
• Taking on board all issues that we highlighted. Play through all 3 songs.
• Any further issues to be highlighted from the 3 songs.

Period 2

• I want to have a whole hour practising through our 80's comp; Trapped in Space, as it needs alot of work.
• Add parts as learnt, start of with 2 people and build up, highlighting any problems. Other members to practise using headphones ready to be added.
• End of the lesson, have a couple of play through's further highlighting any issues for next weeks rehearsal.
