Sam Evaluation

In my planning, I had decided to pick two songs that i felt needed a lot of attention and rehearsing. However, i decided to cut down the list to just 1 song; Thats How I Know. After watching back the rehearsal video, the decision that I made to allow each member to rehearse individually worked really well as the instrumentalists; guitar, bass and keyboard were able to work on their piece's and help each other when they were stuck. The amount of effort was very much noticeable as there was a huge improvement upon last weeks performance.

Erica made a comment during her rehearsal evaluation last week that the main problem for the piece was the modulated part. Before everybody went off to rehearse, we came together to double check the modulated piece and this where we found errors which could have been the main reason why there was problems. After rehearsing, all the instrumentalists were able to play the modulated part, although some notes needed research or further practice.

Whilst leaving the instrumentalists to practice, the vocalists went away to a practice room with Mr Hood to work on the vocals and backing vocals. We managed to add further backing vocals to the song which when added together with the instrumentalists and lead vocals should add some extra flavour to the piece.

Targets;

  • Continue to individually practice away from the lesson, Thats How i Know. In order to keep the quality level up. As well as possibly adding the vocalists.
  • Learn the notation and lyrics, to improve confidence.
  • Add the lead vocals to Thats how i know and then go on to add backing vocals.
  • Adam, learn any unfamiliar notes on the guitar.
